At the launch of the Scottish Strategy for Autism on 2 November 2011, the Minister for Public Health announced that the Scottish Government would provide £13.4 million over four years until March 2015, to support implementation of the strategy.

On June 6 2012, the Minister announced that the Autism Development Fund was being increased from £1 million to £1.5 million per annum to meet demand and allow more projects to receive funding, in order to benefit those with autism and their families.
